Half Dome is the symbol of Yosemite National Park. Once, in the perfect
dome, along with the vertical crack, it was shaved off to the glacier,
and it became the present form. |
This is a Yosemite Falls view from Taft Point. You can see the hiking trail
on the left. The hike to the top of Falls takes about 3 hours from valley
floor. |
This is the best view point that looks down on Yosemite Valley. You can
also enjoy the grand scene of Sierra Nevada at the same time. |
Curry Village is a long-standing accommodation of Yosemite. You can see
the parking lot and the pool of Curry village from Glacier point. |

Giant Sequoia is the largest living things in the world. There are three
giant sequoia groves in Yosemite. The Mariposa Grove is the largest, Merced

Tenaya Lake is the beautiful lake surrounded by the woods and granite mountains.
The lake has beautiful shore and people enjoy the swimming, fishing and
picnic at the beach. |
Tuolumne Meadows is one and half hour drive from Yosemite Valley. There
are many trails you can enjoy hiking in the spacious meadows. |
Here is the trail junction of Pacific Crest Trail and John Muir Trail.
The other highcountry trails start here. You can get the Wilderness Permit
and information at the Wilderness Center. |
Tuolumne River takes clean water to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. And it will
become drinking water of the Bay Area people. |

This rocky mountain is on the east of Tuolumne Meadows, and the rock climbers
and the hikers enjoy climbing. The hiking trailhead is left side of the
parking lot, and it takes about 2 hours round trip. |
The summit of the Lembert Dome is good place to look over the Meadows.
The sharp rock mountain on the left is Cathedral Peak. Cathedral Peak 10,940
ft. |
There are many dynamic water falls near Glen Aulin. The names of other
beautiful falls are Tuolumne Falls, California Falls, Le Conte Falls and
Water Wheel Falls. |
This beautiful pass in the woods is a typical trail in Yosemite. Here
is Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River, upper reaches of the Hetch Hetchy
Reservoir. |

As compared with summer, the winter of Yosemite is very quiet. You can
enjoy the snow camp at the campground without any reservation which opens
even in winter. |
El Capitan on the left is the sheer cliff 3,000 feet high. The walls attract
experienced rock climbers from around the globe. |
Glacier point road is closed in winter but open for cross country skiers.
This hike is four hours round trip from Badger Pass Ski Area by cross country
ski and snow shoe. |
Snow decorates the scene of the Yosemite more elegantly. The peak on the
left of Half Dome is Clouds Rest 9,926 ft. |
